How is acework different from other remote job sites?
Acework aims at revolutionizing the way we work today. Our purpose is to rid the world of the concept that work has to happen within four walls we call an office. Through a thoroughly-designed vetting process, we match your skills with remote companies. You don’t need to apply with your resume or cover letter — just tell us what profiles you’re looking for and we find you a match with a company that is looking for your skill set. We perform personal onboarding and vetting calls for both candidates and companies to make sure we match skill sets accurately. Our matching includes consideration of work permits and time zones that are essential to make the remote job successful. We care that you are happy and feel that you can grow with a team. On signing up, you will be provided full access to our platform and unlimited access to our remote community.


Job Seeker Questions

What is remote working?
Remote work is a working style that allows professionals to work outside of a traditional workspace. Instead, it can and should happen anywhere professionals are stimulated to be productive: home, co-working space, café, library, etc. Here are some of the benefits of remote working :

  • Find a better work-life integration
  • Skip the commute, you can work from home, a cafe, beach, wherever your most comfortable and productive.
  • Land a job with flexible hours (night owls rejoice!)
  • Get more involved in your community. You will have more time for volunteer work, sports or social events
  • Be your most productive. Less distractions, more deep work!

I’m interested to sign up as a job seeker, how do I go about it?
It’s simple! All you need to do is click on the sign-up icon on the top right side of our website, fill in your experiences and job preferences. One of our acework experts will have a quick video call (no more than 10 minutes) to verify your internet connection, English-language fluency, and a few other basics to confirm you are a „remote-ready“ candidate.

What can I expect after signing up on acework?
Now it’s time to sit back and relax, as we match you with your next remote job! You can decide if you would like to accept or reject a matching job by replying over an email. For some jobs, you may have to submit answers to a few screening questions. On acceptance, we will share your profile with the potential company and kickstart your interview process. As we go live, on signing up you will have exclusive access to match with all remote jobs we are already recruiting for and access to offers from our partners, which include productivity tools, online courses, personality tests, co-working spaces and more.

Am I guaranteed a remote job?
We onboard you on our platform only if you are remote-ready! We make sure to connect you with remote opportunities but ultimately it is you who will need to ace the interview.

Is my sign up fee a one time fee or recurring?
We ask for a one-time sign up fee of $49.

How will companies contact me?
As you apply to relevant jobs of your choice on our platform, you may need to answer a few skills based questions that will help company’s access you better. On accepting your profile, you will receive an email about the next steps in your interview process.

Who is my contract with?
If you have cleared all interviews and have been offered the job, congratulations! You will have to directly sign a contract with your new employer, (and not with acework).

What happens if I change my mind at any stage during the interview process?
You can communicate your disinterest in the job at the time of interviewing.

I love acework, how can I share my story?
We are glad that we’ve been able to contribute to your job seeking journey. You can share your experience with us at talent@acework.io and if accepted we will share on our social media channels.

I do not see many jobs to apply for, and haven’t received many matches. What do I do?
We are in the early stages of building our platform and you may find more jobs for some profiles and less for the others, so do apply to the one that matches your skillset. Through our thorough designed vetting process, we will be sending you some matches over an email shortly.

What kind of companies are there on acework?
We work with a wide variety of companies: from small to large, fully distributed („FROGS“) or only offering a few remote positions. In general, we found that the companies most likely to embrace remote working are tech companies or startups. This means most roles on the platform will be at those companies.

Why do I need to provide references while signing up?
We ensure that you only receive jobs that is a best match your skill set. Your reference will receive a short questionnaire that will help validate your skills and professional experiences. Please note, this is a mandatory step so do give your reference a heads-up as we send out the email shortly.

How do I refer friends and colleagues to acework?
The more the merrier – you can send in your referral details to candidates@acework.com. We will reach out to your referral shortly.

I’m interested to sign up as an employer, how do I get started?
We really appreciate your interest in Acework, you can sign up as an employer by clicking on the top right icon „for companies“ and proceed with sharing your company and the requirement with us. A member of the acework team will get in touch with you shortly.

I have never hired remote before, what are the benefits of hiring from acework?
Welcome to the world of remote work, we would like to highlight a few benefits :

Here at acework, we vouch for the quality of candidates we onboard to our platform through our vetting process. We only onboard candidates that are remote-ready and match them with job roles that fit your hiring criteria. We work on success-basis, so you only pay if you find your next employee through us.

Why does acework do reference checks?
We vouch for the quality of candidates we onboard on our platform, it’s a mandatory step in our vetting process for references to fill a short survey form that confirms the candidates work style and experiences. Employers are encouraged to carry out their own reference checks before they hire one of our candidates but our reference checks will help you assess the candidate better.

What is requested to write in a remote job posting?
On signing up, you will only fill out your basic data. Once we unlock your profile, you will add details about the company and its culture. For job postings, we ask you to list the required skills, and any restrictions you have on location, time zones and work permits. To help you match candidates even better, you can add preferences and deal breakers.

Can I edit my job posting after it goes online?
Yes, of course! You just need to login and make the changes, the edits will be live immediately

What sort of candidates can I expect?
Acework is a unique platform that encourages job seekers to apply for profiles of their interest and experience the remote work life. You will receive candidates that are experienced within their areas of expertise while some candidates that are aspiring to make a career change and are carefully vetted by acework experts.

Who can see our company profile?
Only acework members that have signed up on the platform will be able to view and apply to your job posting.

How long are the job postings live?
The job posting will be live as long as the employer would like it to be.

Why don’t I see any matches?
We are in the early stages of building our platform and you may receive more candidates for some jobs and less for others. Through our thorough designed vetting process, we will be sending you some matches over an email shortly.

How do I communicate with matched candidates?
You are one step closer to hiring your next employee ! We will share contact details of the candidate with you and you can process the candidate through your interview process.

How do you vet your candidates?
We have thoroughly designed our vetting process to ensure you find matches that are best suited to the role and your company culture. As a part of the onboarding process, acework experts reach out to potential candidates to confirm their remote-readiness. To validate their candidature we have references share their experiences before we share their profiles with employers. Candidates are also required to take a culture fit test on our platform and answer few skill based questions designed by the employer for better evaluation.

How do I pass on candidates I’m not interested in?
You can reject the candidate over an email but please do let the acework team know how we can serve you better

How do I take down a job if its filled?
You can simply deactivate the job on the platform to stop matching. If you are still receiving matched candidates via email, please let us know at hello@acework.io that you’d like to take down the job.

What happens if the employment is terminated in the first 3 months?
We have a refund policy when the employment doesn’t work out within the first 90 days.
